गते दुर्यॊधने कृष्णः किरीटिनम अथाब्रवीत अयुध्यमानः कां बुद्धिम आस्थायाहं तवया वृतः ॥ ५-७-३१ ॥
‘And after Duryodhana had departed, Krishna — the Lord, the Creator of the worlds, clad in garments of radiant yellow — turned to Kiritin (Arjuna) and said with a smile:’ ॥ 5-7-31 ॥

gate duryòdhane kRSNaH kirITinama athAbravIta ayudhyamAnaH kAM buddhima AsthAyAhaM tavayA vRtaH ॥ 5-7-31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभवान समर्थस तान सर्वान निहन्तुं नात्र संशयः निहन्तुम अहम अप्य एकः समर्थः पुरुषॊत्तम ॥ ५-७-३२ ॥
‘Thereupon Arjuna replied, 'I do not question your power to slay them all, for of that there is no doubt. I too am capable, single-handed, of destroying them, O best among men.'’ ॥ 5-7-32 ॥

bhavAna samarthasa tAna sarvAna nihantuM nAtra saMzayaH nihantuma ahama apya ekaH samarthaH puruSòttama ॥ 5-7-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभवांस तु कीर्तिमाँल लॊके तद यशस तवां गमिष्यति यशसा चाहम अप्य अर्थी तस्माद असि मया वृतः ॥ ५-७-३३ ॥
‘Yet you are renowned throughout the world, and that glory shall ever accompany you. I, too, am a seeker of fame; therefore, it is you whom I have chosen.’ ॥ 5-7-33 ॥

bhavAMsa tu kIrtimA~la lòke tada yazasa tavAM gamiSyati yazasA cAhama apya arthI tasmAda asi mayA vRtaH ॥ 5-7-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसारथ्यं तु तवया कार्यम इति मे मानसं सदा चिररात्रेप्सितं कामं तद भवान कर्तुम अर्हति ॥ ५-७-३४ ॥
‘It has long been my cherished desire to have you as the driver of my chariot. I now entreat you to fulfill this wish that I have held in my heart for so long.’ ॥ 5-7-34 ॥

sArathyaM tu tavayA kAryama iti me mAnasaM sadA cirarAtrepsitaM kAmaM tada bhavAna kartuma arhati ॥ 5-7-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउपपन्नम इदं पार्थ यत सपर्धेथा मया सह सारथ्यं ते करिष्यामि कामः संपद्यतां तव ॥ ५-७-३५ ॥
‘Then the son of Vasudeva said, 'Well indeed, O son of Kunti, does it become you to match yourself with me in this resolve. I shall be your charioteer — may your cherished wish be fulfilled.'’ ॥ 5-7-35 ॥

upapannama idaM pArtha yata sapardhethA mayA saha sArathyaM te kariSyAmi kAmaH saMpadyatAM tava ॥ 5-7-35 ॥
