‘And after Duryodhana had departed, Krishna — the Lord, the Creator of the worlds, clad in garments of radiant yellow — turned to Kiritin (Arjuna) and said with a smile:’ ।। 5-7-31 ।।
‘Thereupon Arjuna replied, 'I do not question your power to slay them all, for of that there is no doubt. I too am capable, single-handed, of destroying them, O best among men.'’ ।। 5-7-32 ।।
‘Yet you are renowned throughout the world, and that glory shall ever accompany you. I, too, am a seeker of fame; therefore, it is you whom I have chosen.’ ।। 5-7-33 ।।
सारथ्यं तु तवया कार्यम इति मे मानसं सदा चिररात्रेप्सितं कामं तद भवान कर्तुम अर्हति ।। ५-७-३४ ।।
‘It has long been my cherished desire to have you as the driver of my chariot. I now entreat you to fulfill this wish that I have held in my heart for so long.’ ।। 5-7-34 ।।
‘Then the son of Vasudeva said, 'Well indeed, O son of Kunti, does it become you to match yourself with me in this resolve. I shall be your charioteer — may your cherished wish be fulfilled.'’ ।। 5-7-35 ।।
