यदि तावच छमं कुर्यान नयायेन कुरुपुंगवः न भवेत कुरु पाण्डूनां सौभ्रात्रेण महान कषयः ॥ ५-५-८ ॥
‘If the chief of the Kuru race consents to peace on equitable terms, then the bonds of brotherhood between the Kurus and the Pandavas will suffer no harm.’ ॥ 5-5-8 ॥
