नाधर्मॊ विद्यते कश चिच छत्रून हत्वाततायिनः अधर्म्यम अयशस्यं च शात्रवाणां परयाचनम ।। ५-३-२१ ।।

‘There is no sin in slaying those who are intent on destroying us; but to stoop as beggars before our foes is both impious and disgraceful.’ ।। 5-3-21 ।।

english translation

nAdharmò vidyate kaza cica chatrUna hatvAtatAyinaH adharmyama ayazasyaM ca zAtravANAM parayAcanama || 5-3-21 ||

हृद्गतस तस्य यः कामस तं कुरुध्वम अतन्द्रिताः निसृष्टं धृतराष्ट्रेण राज्यं पराप्नॊतु पाण्डवः ।। ५-३-२२ ।।

‘Fulfil without delay the desire that lies deep in his heart. Let the son of Pandu regain the kingdom wrongfully withheld, the realm that should rightfully be his!’ ।। 5-3-22 ।।

hRdgatasa tasya yaH kAmasa taM kurudhvama atandritAH nisRSTaM dhRtarASTreNa rAjyaM parApnòtu pANDavaH || 5-3-22 ||

अद्य पाण्डुसुतॊ राज्यं लभतां वा युधिष्ठिरः निहता वारणे सर्वे सवप्स्यन्ति वसुधातले ।। ५-३-२३ ।।

‘Let the son of Pandu reclaim the kingdom that Dhritarashtra wrongfully withholds! Either Yudhishthira shall regain his throne this very day, or all our enemies shall lie upon the earth, slain by my hand!’ ।। 5-3-23 ।।
