‘Vaisampayana said, "Then those valiant descendants of the Kurus, allies of Virata, joyfully celebrated the nuptials of Abhimanyu. After resting for the night, they presented themselves at dawn in the court of King Virata, well pleased."’ ।। 5-1-1 ।।
सभा तु सा मत्स्यपतेः समृद्धा; मणिप्रवेकॊत्तम रत्नचित्रा नयस्तासना माल्यवती सुगन्धा; ताम अभ्ययुस ते नरराज वर्याः ।। ५-१-२ ।।
‘The royal hall of the Matsya king was resplendent with riches, adorned with a variety of gems and precious stones, garlands, and fragrant decorations, with seats arranged in orderly fashion.’ ।। 5-1-2 ।।
अथासनान्य आविशतां पुरस्ताद; उभौ विराटद्रुपदौ नरेन्द्रौ वृद्धश च मान्यः पृथिवीपतीनां; पितामहॊ राम जनार्दनाभ्याम ।। ५-१-३ ।।
‘And all the mighty monarchs of men gathered there. On the seats of honor in front sat the two kings, Virata and Drupada, along with the revered and aged rulers of the earth, and Vālarāma and Krishna with their father.’ ।। 5-1-3 ।।
‘Close to the king of Panchala was seated the great hero of the Sini race, together with the son of Rohini. Beside the king of Matsya sat Krishna and Yudhishthira.’ ।। 5-1-4 ।।
सुताश च सर्वे दरुपदस्य राज्ञॊ; भीमार्जुनौ माद्रवतीसुतौ च परद्युम्न साम्बौ च युधि परवीरौ; विराट पुत्रश च सहाभिमन्युः ।। ५-१-५ ।।
‘Along with all the sons of Drupada, Bhima and Arjuna, the two sons of Madri, Pradyumna and Samva, both valiant in battle, and Abhimanyu with the sons of Virata.’ ।। 5-1-5 ।।
