वार्यमाणॊ ऽपि भीष्मेण दरॊणेन विदुरेण च पाण्डवानां परियां भार्यां दरौपदीं धर्मचारिणीम ॥ २-७२-६ ॥
'Despite warnings from Bhishma, Drona, and Vidura, your wicked and shameless son Duryodhana sent his charioteer to summon the virtuous and beloved wife of the Pandavas to the court.' ॥ 2-72-6 ॥
english translation
vAryamANò 'pi bhISmeNa daròNena vidureNa ca pANDavAnAM pariyAM bhAryAM daraupadIM dharmacAriNIma ॥ 2-72-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपराहिणॊद आनयेहेति पुत्रॊ दुर्यॊधनस तव सूतपुत्रं सुमन्दात्मा निर्लज्जः परातिकामिनम ॥ २-७२-७ ॥
'Your son Duryodhana, that wicked soul, Shamelessly sent for the charioteer's son, Saying 'Bring him here,' out of lust.' ॥ 2-72-7 ॥

parAhiNòda Anayeheti putrò duryòdhanasa tava sUtaputraM sumandAtmA nirlajjaH parAtikAminama ॥ 2-72-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript[धृ] यस्मै देवाः परयच्छन्ति पुरुषाय पराभवम बुद्धिं तस्यापकर्षन्ति सॊ ऽपाचीनानि पश्यति ॥ २-७२-८ ॥
'To whomever the gods intend defeat, They first take away his intelligence. Then he sees things in reverse.' ॥ 2-72-8 ॥

[dhR] yasmai devAH parayacchanti puruSAya parAbhavama buddhiM tasyApakarSanti sò 'pAcInAni pazyati ॥ 2-72-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबुद्धौ कलुष भूतायां विनाशे परत्युपस्थिते अनयॊ नयसंकाशॊ हृदयान नापसर्पति ॥ २-७२-९ ॥
'When the intellect becomes clouded, And destruction is imminent, Wrong appears as right, And does not leave the heart.' ॥ 2-72-9 ॥

buddhau kaluSa bhUtAyAM vinAze paratyupasthite anayò nayasaMkAzò hRdayAna nApasarpati ॥ 2-72-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनर्थाश चार्थरूपेण अर्थाश चानर्थ रूपिणः उत्तिष्ठन्ति विनाशान्ते नरं तच चास्य रॊचते ॥ २-७२-१० ॥
'What is improper seems proper, and what is proper seems improper to one who is doomed to destruction. Thus, he prefers what is evil and inappropriate.' ॥ 2-72-10 ॥
