'You speak as you please, but do not insult us. We are aware of your thoughts. Go and seek wisdom from the elders. Focus on maintaining the reputation you have earned. Refrain from interfering in the matters of others.' ।। 2-57-6 ।।
अहं कर्तेति विदुर मावमन्स्था; मा नॊ नित्यं परुषाणीह वॊचः न तवां पृच्छामि विदुर यद धितं मे; सवस्ति कषत्तर मा तितिक्षून कषिणु तवम ।। २-५७-७ ।।
'Do not presume to be our leader. Refrain from constantly offering us harsh advice, Vidura. We do not seek your guidance on what is best for us. Cease, and do not aggravate those who have already endured too much from you.' ।। 2-57-7 ।।
'There is only one Controller, and there is no other. He governs even the unborn child in the mother's womb. I am guided by Him. Just as water naturally flows downward, I act precisely according to His direction.' ।। 2-57-8 ।।
भिनत्ति शिरसा शैलम अहिं भॊजयते च यः स एव तस्य कुरुते कार्याणाम अनुशासनम ।। २-५७-९ ।।
'He who strikes his head against a stone wall and he who nourishes a serpent are both driven by their own understanding. Similarly, in this matter, I am guided by my intellect.' ।। 2-57-9 ।।
'One who seeks to control others by force becomes an adversary. However, when advice is given in a spirit of friendship, the wise accept it with patience.' ।। 2-57-10 ।।
