वृद्धः किल समुद्रान्ते कश चिद धंसॊ ऽभवत पुरा धर्मवाग अन्यथावृत्तः पक्षिणः सॊ ऽनुशास्ति ह ॥ २-३८-३० ॥
'Long ago, there lived an old swan on the sea coast. Though he spoke of morality, his actions were contrary. He used to instruct the other birds.' ॥ 2-38-30 ॥
english translation
vRddhaH kila samudrAnte kaza cida dhaMsò 'bhavata purA dharmavAga anyathAvRttaH pakSiNaH sò 'nuzAsti ha ॥ 2-38-30 ॥
