शूद्राभीर गणाश चैव ये चाश्रित्य सरस्वतीम वर्तयन्ति च ये मत्स्यैर ये च पर्वतवासिनः ॥ २-२९-९ ॥
'And he also subdued who lived along the seashore, as well as the Sudras and Abhiras residing on the banks of the Saraswati. He also brought under his control those tribes dependent on fisheries, those dwelling in the mountains.' ॥ 2-29-9 ॥
