'The policy of wise men dictates that one should not openly engage in battle with foes who are exceedingly powerful and lead well-organized forces.' ।। 2-16-6 ।।
'This is also my view: if we achieve our objective by secretly entering our enemy's stronghold and attacking him personally, we will avoid disgrace.' ।। 2-16-7 ।।
'Yet, I foresee his downfall. To protect our kin, we must either defeat him in battle or ascend to heaven, having fought bravely but fallen to him in the end.' ।। 2-16-9 ।।
[य] कृष्ण कॊ ऽयं जरासंधः किं वीर्यः किं पराक्रमः यस तवां सपृष्ट्वाग्निसदृशं न दग्धः शलभॊ यथा ।। २-१६-१० ।।
'Yudhishthira said, "O Krishna, who exactly is this Jarasandha? What is his strength and prowess that, upon encountering you, he has not been consumed like an insect touched by fire?"' ।। 2-16-10 ।।
