ततः सभार्यः परनटस तम उवाच बृहद्रथः पुत्रदर्शननैराश्याद बाष्पगद्गदया गिरा ॥ २-१६-२५ ॥
'O noble sage, please grant me a boon," said King Vrihadratha, humbly bowing before the Rishi with his wives. Overcome with sorrow due to his inability to have a child, he spoke tearfully.' ॥ 2-16-25 ॥

tataH sabhAryaH paranaTasa tama uvAca bRhadrathaH putradarzananairAzyAda bASpagadgadayA girA ॥ 2-16-25 ॥
