एवं सर्वान वशे चक्रे जरासंधः शतावरान तं दुर्बलतरॊ राजा कथं पार्थ उपैष्यति ।। २-१४-१६ ।।
'Thus he has brought nearly a hundred kings under his sway. How can any weak monarch, O son of Pritha, approach him with hostile intentions?' ।। 2-14-16 ।।
'Confined in the temple of Shiva and offered as sacrifices like so many animals, do not these monarchs dedicated to that god experience the most profound misery, O bull of the Bharata lineage?' ।। 2-14-17 ।।
पराप्नुयात स यशॊ दीप्तं तत्र यॊ विघ्नम आचरेत जयेद यश च जरासंधं स सम्राण नियतं भवेत ।। २-१४-२० ।।
'Once he acquires those fourteen, he will commence his ruthless deeds. Whoever obstructs that endeavor will surely earn great renown. And whoever defeats Jarasandha will undoubtedly become the emperor of all Kshatriyas.' ।। 2-14-20 ।।
