यत्राभिगमने निष्फलो व्ययोऽनभिगमने च निष्प्रतीकारो ऽनर्थः स उभयतोऽनर्थः ॥ ३८ ॥
When she sleeps with a man without a profit, and the one who gives her a pension stops her allowance, she undergoes a loss in both cases.

उभयतः अनर्थयोग – जिस समागम में निष्फल व्यय हो और समागम न करने पर अपरिहार्य संकट आने की आशंका हो, वह 'उभयतः अनर्थयोग' कहलाता है ॥ ३८ ॥
