Kamasutra
श्रोत्रियस्य ब्रह्मचारिणो दीक्षितस्य व्रतिनो लिङ्गिनो वा मां दृष्ट्वा जातरागस्य मुमूर्षोर्मित्रवाक्यादानृशंस्याच्च गमनं धर्मोऽधर्म इति संशयः ॥ २९ ॥
A priest, a chaste student, an initiate, a wandering monk, a Buddhist monk [lingi], etc., having seen her, fall desperately in love with her; or someone else, according to his friends, wants to commit suicide for the same reasons. Sleeping with them is a charitable duty [dharma], yet contrary to their moral law [adharma]. There is doubt between duty and prohibition [dharma-adharma].

धर्म और अधर्म की संकीर्णता अपने को देखकर अनुरक्त हुए वेदपाठी ब्राह्मण, ब्रह्मचारी, दीक्षित, व्रती, साधु या मरने की इच्छा रखने वाले पुरुष के साथ मित्र के कथन पर अथवा अपनी दयालुता के कारण वेश्या का समागम करना धर्म होगा या अधर्म ? - यह धर्माधर्मसंशय कहलाता है ॥ २९ ॥
