प्रच्छन्नदानस्य तु कारणमात्मनो गुरुजनाद्भयं ख्यापयेत्। देयस्य चान्येन स्पृहणीयत्वमिति ॥ १८ ॥
If the gifts he has made secretly are discovered, afraid of her parents, she pretends that they are intended for someone else.

यदि नायिका प्रच्छन्न रूप से वस्तुएँ देने का कारण पूछे तो अपने गुरुजन का भय बताये अथवा कहे कि दी जाने वाली वस्तु को अन्य व्यक्ति भी चाहते हैं ॥ १८ ॥
