वसन्तश्चैत्रवैशाखौ ज्येष्ठाषाढौ च ग्रीष्मकौ । वर्षा श्रावणभाद्राभ्यां शरदाश्विनकार्तिकौ । मार्गपौषौ च हेमन्तः शिशिरो माघफाल्गुनौ ॥५-११॥
There is spring season till Chaitra and Vaishakh months and summer season till Jyeshtha and Ashadha months. There is rainy season from Shravan to Bhadrapada i.e. Bhadau and autumn i.e. winter from Ashwin to Kartik month. From Margashirsha to Paush month is Hemant season and from Magh to Phalgun month is Shishir season.

चैत्र और वैशाख मास तक वसन्त ऋतु और ज्येष्ठ व आषाढ़ मास तक ग्रीष्म ऋतु होती है । श्रावण से भाद्रपद अर्थात् भादौ तक वर्षा ऋतु और आश्विन से कार्तिक मास तक शरद ऋतु अर्थात् सर्दी होती है । मार्गशीर्ष से पौष माह तक हेमन्त ऋतु और माघ से फाल्गुन मास तक शिशिर ऋतु होती है ।

अनुभावं प्रवक्ष्यामि ऋतूनां च यथोदितम् । माघादिमाधवान्तेषु वसन्तानुभवं विदुः ॥५-१२॥
Now I will preach as I feel about the seasons. Spring season is experienced for four months from the month of Magh to the end of the month of Vaishakh.

अब मैं जैसा ऋतुओं के विषय में अनुभव होता है, उसका उपदेश करूँगा । माघ मास से वैशाख मास के अन्त तक चार महीनों वसन्त ऋतु का अनुभव होता है ।

From the month of Bhadrapada till the end of Margashirsha month, there is the effect of autumn for four months, from the month of Kartik till the end of Magha month, the effect of Hemant season is experienced for four months and from the month of Margashirsha to the month of Phalgun, there is the effect of autumn season for four months.

भाद्रपद मास से मार्ग शीर्ष मास के अन्त तक चार महीने शरद ऋतु का प्रभाव रहता है, कार्तिक मास से माघ मास के अन्त तक चार महीने हेमन्त ऋतु का अनुभव होता है और मार्गशीर्ष मास से फाल्गुन मास तक चार महीने शिशिर ऋतु का प्रभाव रहता है ।

वसन्ते वापि शरदि योगारम्भं समाचरेत् । तदा योगी भवेत्सिद्धो विनाऽऽयासेन कथ्यते ॥५-१५॥
The seeker should start yoga practice in spring or autumn. By doing this, the seeker attains success in Yoga without any special effort.

साधक को योग साधना की शुरुआत वसन्त या शरद ऋतु में करनी चाहिए । ऐसा करने से बिना किसी विशेष प्रयास के ही साधक को योग में सिद्धि प्राप्त हो जाती है ।
