सत्सङ्गाद्भवति हि साधुना खलानां साधूनां नहि खलसङ्गतः खलत्वम् । आमोदं कुसुमभवं मृदेव धत्ते मृद्रन्धं नहि कुसुमानि धारयन्ति ॥७II

Virtues can arise in the mind of a wicked person if he attends satsang with a saint. But a saint does not get polluted by associating with the wicked, just as a flower that falls on the ground makes the earth fragrant but the flower does not absorb the smell of the earth.

english translation

एक दुष्ट के मन में सद्गुणों का उदय हो सकता है यदि वह साधु से सत्संग करता है। परन्तु दुष्ट का संग करने से साधू दूषित नहीं होता, वैसे ही जैसे जमीन पर जो फूल गिरता है उससे धरती सुगन्धित होती है लेकिन पुष्प धरती की गंध को ग्रहण नहीं करता।
