रसजानि तु भूतानि व्याधयश्च पृथग्विधाः। आपो हि रसवत्यस्ताः स्मृता निर्वृत्तिहेतवः ॥१३॥
All creatures (animates) originate from rasa (fluid), and so are the various types of diseases. Rasas originate from water and, therefore, water is ascribed as the source of their manifestations.”
