[Definitions] Hearing these words of Agnivesha, the mentor (Atreya) explained the therapies thus. -Whatever produces lightness or reduction in the body is known as Langhana (reducing/lightening) therapy.
-Whatever increases the bulk of the body and makes it strong is known as Brimhana (nourishing therapy). -Rukshana(dryness causing) therapy is that which causes dryness, roughness, and coarseness. -Whatever moisturizes and smoothens, causes unction, fluidity, and ooziness is called Snehana (oleation) therapy.
