[Guidelines for formulating medicines Nomenclature of formulations] The nomenclature of the combination are always in the name of main ingredient.

फलादीनां प्रधानानां गुणभूताः सुरादयः। ते हि तान्यनुवर्तन्ते मनुजेन्द्रमिवेतरे॥४४॥
The remaining ingredients in the formulations will boost, regulate and they act in accordance to the main ingredient similar to the followers of the king.

विरुद्धवीर्यमप्येषां प्रधानानामबाधकम्। अधिकं तुल्यवीर्ये हि क्रियासामर्थ्यमिष्यते ॥४५॥
[Addition of other ingredients] Viruddha virya (opposite qualities) drugs are added in the formulation which shall not impair the action of main ingredient. Addition of ingredients with similar properties will enrich the action of the formulations.
