विरुद्धवीर्यमप्येषां प्रधानानामबाधकम्| अधिकं तुल्यवीर्ये हि क्रियासामर्थ्यमिष्यते ||४५||

[Addition of other ingredients] Viruddha virya (opposite qualities) drugs are added in the formulation which shall not impair the action of main ingredient. Addition of ingredients with similar properties will enrich the action of the formulations.
