चतुर्दशीं पञ्चदशीं तथाअष्टमीं तमिस्रपक्षस्य तिथिं भृगोः सुतः । यदा व्रजेद्दर्शनं अस्तं एति वा तदा मही वारिमयीव लक्ष्यते ॥ ९-३६ ॥
If Venus should either reappear or disappear in the 8th, 14th, or 15th lunar day of the waning moon, the Earth will be flooded with water.
english translation
caturdazIM paJcadazIM tathAaSTamIM tamisrapakSasya tithiM bhRgoH sutaH । yadA vrajeddarzanaM astaM eti vA tadA mahI vArimayIva lakSyate ॥ 9-36 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगुरुर्भृगुश्चापरपूर्वकाष्ठयोः परस्परं सप्तमराशिगौ यदा । तदा प्रजा रुग्भयशोकपीडिता न वारि पश्यन्ति पुरन्दरौज्झितम् ॥ ९-३७ ॥
If Jupiter and Venus should be opposite to, that is, 180° apart from each other and if they should be at the same time due east and west of each other, mankind will suffer from disease, from fears and from sorrow, and there will be no rain.

gururbhRguzcAparapUrvakASThayoH parasparaM saptamarAzigau yadA । tadA prajA rugbhayazokapIDitA na vAri pazyanti purandaraujjhitam ॥ 9-37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदा स्थिता जीवबुधऽरसूर्यजाः सितस्य सर्वे अग्रपथानुवर्तिनः । नृनागविद्याधरसङ्गरास्तदा भवन्ति वाताश्च समुच्छ्रितान्तकाः ॥ ९-३८ ॥
If the course of Jupiter, Mercury, Mars and Saturn should just precede that of Venus, mankind, elephants and magicians will be at strife among themselves; storms and deaths will afflict mankind.
english translation
yadA sthitA jIvabudha'rasUryajAH sitasya sarve agrapathAnuvartinaH । nRnAgavidyAdharasaGgarAstadA bhavanti vAtAzca samucchritAntakAH ॥ 9-38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन मित्रभावे सुहृदो व्यवस्थिताः क्रियासु सम्यग्न रता द्विजातयः । न चाल्पं अप्यम्बु ददाति वासवो भिनत्ति वज्रेण शिरांसि भूभृताम् ॥ ९-३९ ॥
Friends will cease to be friends; the Brahmins will cease to perform religious ceremonies properly; there will be no rain; and mountains will be riven asunder thunderbolts.
english translation
na mitrabhAve suhRdo vyavasthitAH kriyAsu samyagna ratA dvijAtayaH । na cAlpaM apyambu dadAti vAsavo bhinatti vajreNa zirAMsi bhUbhRtAm ॥ 9-39 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशनैश्चरे म्लेच्छविडालकुञ्जराः खरा महिष्यो असितधान्यशूकराः । पुलिन्दशूद्राश्च सदक्षिणापथाः क्षयं व्रजन्त्यक्षिमरुद्गदौद्भवैः ॥ ९-४० ॥
If the course of Saturn should just precede that of Venus, the Mlecchas, cats, elephants, asses, buffaloes, black grains, hogs, Pulindas (barbarians), the Śūdras and travellers in the south will suffer by diseases of the eye and by windy disorders.
