वैश्वे युगे शोकहृद् इत्यथऽद्यः संवत्सरो अतः शुभकृद्द्वितीयः । क्रोधी तृतीयः परतः क्रमेण विश्वावसुश्चैति पराभवश्च ॥ ८-४१ ॥
The first year of the next yuga sacred to Viśvedeva is Śobhakṛt; the next year is known as Subhakṛt; the third is Krodhī; and the remaining years are known as Viśvāvasu and Parābhava.
english translation
vaizve yuge zokahRd ityatha'dyaH saMvatsaro ataH zubhakRddvitIyaH । krodhI tRtIyaH parataH krameNa vizvAvasuzcaiti parAbhavazca ॥ 8-41 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपूर्वापरौ प्रीतिकरौ प्रजानां एषां तृतीयो बहुदोषदो अब्दः । अन्त्यौ समौ किन्तु पराभवे अग्निः शस्त्रऽमयऽर्तिर्द्विजगोभयं च ॥ ८-४२ ॥
During the first two years mankind will be happy; during the third they will feel exceedingly miserable and during the last two years they will be neither happy nor miserable; but in the year Parābhava there will be fear from fire and suffering from weapons and from disease; the Brāhmins and cows will also suffer.
english translation
pUrvAparau prItikarau prajAnAM eSAM tRtIyo bahudoSado abdaH । antyau samau kintu parAbhave agniH zastra'maya'rtirdvijagobhayaM ca ॥ 8-42 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआद्यः प्लवङ्गो नवमे युगे अब्दः स्यात्कीलको अन्यः परतश्च सौम्यः । साधारणो रोधकृदित्य् अथएवं शुभप्रदौ कीलकसौम्यसंज्ञौ ॥ ८-४३ ॥
The first year of the ninth yuga is Plavaṅga, the next year is known as Kīlaka, the third is known as Saumya and the last two years are known as Sādhāraṇa and Rodhakṛt respectively; of these, during the years Kīlaka and Saumya mankind will be happy.
english translation
AdyaH plavaGgo navame yuge abdaH syAtkIlako anyaH paratazca saumyaH । sAdhAraNo rodhakRdity athaevaM zubhapradau kIlakasaumyasaMjJau ॥ 8-43 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकष्टः प्लवङ्गो बहुशः प्रजानां साधारणे अल्पं जलं ईतयश्च । यः पञ्चमो रोधकृदित्यथाब्दश्चित्रं जलं तत्र च सस्यसम्पत् ॥ ८-४४ ॥
In the year Plavaṅga mankind will suffer much; in Sādhāraṇa there will be slight rain and crops will suffer; in the fifth year there will be a variety of rainfall and crops will thrive.
english translation
kaSTaH plavaGgo bahuzaH prajAnAM sAdhAraNe alpaM jalaM Itayazca । yaH paJcamo rodhakRdityathAbdazcitraM jalaM tatra ca sasyasampat ॥ 8-44 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइन्द्राग्निदैवं दशमं युगं यत् तत्रऽद्यवर्षं परिधाविसंज्ञम् । प्रमादिनं विक्रमं अप्यतो अन्यत् स्याद्राक्षसं चानलसंज्ञितं च ॥ ८-४५ ॥
The first year of the next yuga sacred to Indrāgni is known as Paridhāvi; the remaining years are—Pramādin, Ānanda, Rākṣasa and Anala.

indrAgnidaivaM dazamaM yugaM yat tatra'dyavarSaM paridhAvisaMjJam । pramAdinaM vikramaM apyato anyat syAdrAkSasaM cAnalasaMjJitaM ca ॥ 8-45 ॥
