Brihat Samhita
सामान्यं इदं समासतो लोकानां हितदं मया कृतम् । अधिवासनसन्निवेशने सावित्रे पृथगेव विस्तरात् ॥ ६०-२२ ॥
Thus have I treated briefly of the subject of fixing the Images in Temples, for the benefit of the people at large. Sūrya has, in his work, treated at full length of matters connected with Adhivāsana (watching the image at night with music and dance) and with fixing the image in its pedestal.
