Brihat Samhita
ऐन्द्रे भूपविरोधः शारदसस्यक्षयो न च क्षेमम् । कौबेरे अर्थपतीनां अर्थविनाशः सुभिक्षं च ॥ ५-२१ ॥
If Indra should be the lord, the princes will be at war with each other, the crops of Śarat (October and November), will perish and there will be no prosperity in the land. If Kubera should be the lord, rich men will suffer in their wealth but there will be prosperity in the land.

aindre bhUpavirodhaH zAradasasyakSayo na ca kSemam । kaubere arthapatInAM arthavinAzaH subhikSaM ca ॥ 5-21 ॥
