क्रियमाणं यदि पत्रं सुखेन विस्तारं एति पट्टस्य । वृद्धिजयौ भूमिपतेस्तथा प्रजानां च सुखसम्पत् ॥ ४९-०६ ॥

If gold plate while being beaten out for the paṭṭa should extend easily, the king would enjoy an increase of prosperity and success and his subjects too would be happy.

जीवितराज्यविनाशं करोति मध्ये व्रणः समुत्पन्नः । मध्ये स्फुटितस्त्याज्यो विघ्नकरः पार्श्वयोः स्फुटितः ॥ ४९-०७ ॥

If, while being beaten out, the plate should be wounded in the middle, the king’s life and power would suffer destruction. If it should break either at the middle or at the sides, there would be misery and the plate should be rejected.

अशुभनिमित्तौत्पत्तौ शास्त्रज्ञः शान्तिं आदिशेद्राज्ञः । शस्तनिमित्तः पट्टो नृपराष्ट्रविवृद्धये भवति ॥ ४९-०८ ॥

If, while the paṭṭa is being made, evil omens should occur, the learned astrologer shall prescribe expiatory ceremonies for the benefit of the king. If good omens should occur at the time there would be an increase of territory.
