ब्राह्मीं क्षेमां अजां चएव सर्वबीजानि काञ्चनीम् । मङ्गल्यानि यथालाभं सर्वौषध्यो रसास् तथा ॥ ४८-४१ ॥

The Brahma, Kṣema, Aja and all the seeds are golden. All auspicious herbs and juices were prepared according to their availability.

रत्नानि सर्वगन्धाश् च बिल्वं च सविकङ्कतम् । प्रशस्तनाम्न्यश्चओषध्यो हिरण्यं मङ्गलानि च ॥ ४८-४२ ॥

He shall also put into the pots gems, various fragrant substances, the leaves of Bilva, and the root of long pepper and creepers bearing good names, as well as silver and other good substances.

आदावनडुहश्चर्म जरया संहृतायुषः । प्रशस्तलक्षणभृतः प्राचीनग्रीवं आस्तरेत् ॥ ४८-४३ ॥

This over, the skin of a full grown fine bull shall be spread on the ground with the head towards the east,

ततो वृषस्य योधस्य चर्म रोहितं अक्षतम् । सिम्हस्याथ तृतीयं स्याद्व्याघ्रस्य च ततः परम् ॥ ४८-४४ ॥

Over it shall be spread the skin of the Yodha (fighting bull), over it again, the skin of the lion, and over it the skin of the tiger.

चत्वार्येतानि चर्माणि तस्यां वेद्यां उपास्तरेत् । शुभे मुहूर्ते सम्प्राप्ते पुष्ययुक्ते निशाकरे ॥ ४८-४५ ॥
