ग्रहांश्च सर्व नक्षत्रै रुद्रांश्च सह मातृभिः । स्कन्दं विष्णुं विशाखं च लोकपालान्सुरस्त्रियः ॥ ४८-२६ ॥

He shall also represent the figures of the planets, the constellations, the Rudras, the Saptamātās (seven mothers), Skanda, Viṣṇu, Viśākhas. the Lokapālas and the wives of the Devas.

वर्णकैर्विविक्धैः कृत्वा हृद्यैर्गन्धगुणान्वितैः । यथास्वं पूजयेद्विद्वान्गन्धमाल्यानुलेपनैः ॥ ४८-२७ ॥

The figures shall be made of various agreeable and scented colours, and the priest shall perform pūjā to them as prescribed in the Śāstras with sandal paste, wreathes of flowers and the like.

भक्ष्यैरन्नैश्च विविधैः फलमूलऽमिषैस्तथा । पानैश्च विविधैर्हृद्यैः सुराक्षीरऽसवऽदिभिः ॥ ४८-२८ ॥

He shall satisfy the Devas by the offer of sweet-meats, various preparations of rice, fruits, roots, meat, sweet and agreeable drinks, liquor, milk and alcohol.

कथयाम्यतः परं अहं पूजां अस्मिन्यथाभिलिखितानाम् । ग्रहयज्ञे यः प्रोक्तो विधिर्ग्रहाणां स कर्तव्यः ॥ ४८-२९ ॥

I shall now proceed to state the pūjā rules contained in the Śāstras; as regards pūjā to the planets, the rules of Planetary Sacrifices should be followed.

मांसओदनमद्यैः पिशाचदितितनयदानवाः पूज्याः । अभ्यञ्जनाञ्जनतिलैः पितरो मांसओदनैश्चापि ॥ ४८-३० ॥

The Piśācas, the Asuras and the Rākṣasas shall be gratified by the offer of meat, rice, toddy and the like. The Pitṛs shall be gratified by the pouring out of oil over the figures representing them, by eye salve, and by the offer of gingelly. meat, rice and the like.
