Brihat Samhita
उल्का हरिश्चन्द्रपुरं रजश्च निर्घातभूकम्पककुप्प्रदाहाः । वातो अतिचण्डो ग्रहणं रवीन्द्वोर्नक्षत्रतारागणवैकृतानि ॥ ३२-२४ ॥
Meteors, the appearance of 'Harishchandra-puram' (fata morgana/ghostly castles in the sky), dust storms, thunderbolts without clouds, earthquakes, and the glowing redness of the quarters (horizons); Extremely violent winds, eclipses of the Sun and the Moon, and unnatural alterations in the appearance of constellations and stars ॥ are all portents of coming change/distress॥.
