Brihat Samhita
उत्तरं अयनं अतीत्य व्यावृत्तः क्षेमसस्यवृद्धिकरः । प्रकृतिस्थश्चाप्येवं विकृतगतिर्भयकृदुष्णांशुः ॥ ३-०५ ॥
The Sun when he changes his course from north to south and when in his usual condition will bring on prosperity and increase of crops; but when he undergoes a change either in his usual course or in his usual appearance he causes fear to mankind.
english translation
uttaraM ayanaM atItya vyAvRttaH kSemasasyavRddhikaraH । prakRtisthazcApyevaM vikRtagatirbhayakRduSNAMzuH ॥ 3-05 ॥
