Brihat Samhita
मयूरशुकचाषचातकसमानवर्णा यदा जपाकुसुमपङ्कजद्युतिमुषश्च सन्ध्याघनाः । जलोर्मिनगनक्रकच्छपवराहमीनौपमाः प्रभूतपुटसंचया न तु चिरेण यच्छन्त्यपः ॥ २८-१४ ॥
When, at twilight, the clouds take on colors like those of peacocks, parrots, sparrows, and chataka birds, stealing the glow of hibiscus flowers and lotuses; when they resemble waves of water, mountains, crocodiles, tortoises, boars, and fish, gathered in great masses—then, without much delay, they bestow abundant rain.
