स्तनितं निशि विद्युतो दिवा रुधिरनिभा यदि दण्डवत्स्थिताः । पवनः पुरतश्च शीतलो यदि सलिलस्य तदाआगमो भवेत् ॥ २८-१२ ॥

sanskrit

If there is thunder at night, lightning by day appearing blood-red and standing upright like a staff, and if a cool wind blows from the front, then the coming of rain is to be expected.

english translation

stanitaM nizi vidyuto divA rudhiranibhA yadi daNDavatsthitAH । pavanaH puratazca zItalo yadi salilasya tadAAgamo bhavet ॥ 28-12 ॥
