शुक्रे बृहस्पति जिते यायी श्रेष्ठो विनाशं उपयाति । ब्रह्मक्षत्रविरोधः सलिलं च न वासवस्त्यजति ॥ १७-२१ ॥

If Jupiter should suffer defeat in his conjunction with Venus, travellers and eminent men will perish. The Brāhmaṇas and the Kṣatriyas will be at war and there will be no rain.

zukre bRhaspati jite yAyI zreSTho vinAzaM upayAti । brahmakSatravirodhaH salilaM ca na vAsavastyajati ॥ 17-21 ॥

कोशलकलिङ्गवङ्गा वत्सा मत्स्याश्च मध्यदेशयुताः । महतीं व्रजन्ति पीडां नपुंसकाः शूरसेनाश्च ॥ १७-२२ ॥

The people of Kosala, Kaliṅga, Vaṅga (Bengal), Vatsa, Matsya, Madhyadeśa, Śūrasena and eunuchs will suffer great miseries.

कुजविजिते भृगुतनये बलमुख्यवधो नरेन्द्रसंग्रामाः । सौम्येन पार्वतीयाः क्षीरविनाशो अल्पवृष्टिश्च ॥ १७-२३ ॥

If Venus should suffer defeat in his conjunction with Mars, the chiefs of armies will perish and princes will be at war; if Venus should so suffer in his conjunction with Mercury, the people of mountainous countries will suffer; milk will be injured and there will be slight rain.

kujavijite bhRgutanaye balamukhyavadho narendrasaMgrAmAH । saumyena pArvatIyAH kSIravinAzo alpavRSTizca ॥ 17-23 ॥

रविजेन सिते विजिते गुणमुख्याः शस्त्रजीविनः क्षत्रम् । जलजाश्च निपीड्यन्ते सामान्यं भक्तिफलं अन्यत् ॥ १७-२४ ॥

If Venus should suffer defeat in his conjunction with Saturn, the chiefs of tribes, soldiers, the Kṣatriyas and creatures of water will suffer; the several objects and persons presided over by Venus will also suffer in addition.

असिते सितेन निहते अर्घवृद्धिरहिविहगमानिनां पीडा । क्षितिजेन तङ्गणान्ध्रौड्रकाशिबाह्लीकदेशानाम् ॥ १७-२५ ॥

If Saturn should suffer defeat in his conjunction with Venus, the price of food grains will rise and snakes and birds will suffer. If he should so suffer in his conjunction with Mars, the people of Taṅgaṇa, of Āndhra, of Orissa, of Benares and of Bāhlīka will suffer.
