अथ मेषादिराशीनां चरादीनां पृथक् पृथक्। दृष्टिभेदं प्रवक्ष्यामि श्रृणु त्वं द्विजसत्तम॥ १॥
Rāśi Drishtis. O Maitreya, now detailed are the Drishtis, emanating from the Rāśi Mesh etc. Every Movable Rāśi drishties the 3 Fixed Rāśis, leaving the Fixed Rāśi adjacent to it.
english translation
atha meSAdirAzInAM carAdInAM pRthak pRthak। dRSTibhedaM pravakSyAmi zrRNu tvaM dvijasattama॥ 1॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptराशयोऽभिमुखं विप्र तथा पश्यन्ति पार्श्वभे। यथा चरः स्थिरानेवं स्थिरः पश्यति वै चरान्॥ २॥
Every Fixed Rāśi gives Drishti to the 3 Movable Rāśis, barring the adjacent Movable Rāśi.
english translation
rAzayo'bhimukhaM vipra tathA pazyanti pArzvabhe। yathA caraH sthirAnevaM sthiraH pazyati vai carAn॥ 2॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptद्विस्वभावो विनाऽत्मानां द्विस्वभावान् प्रपश्यति। समीपस्थं परित्यज्य खेटास्तत्र गतास्तथा॥ ३॥
And a Common Rāśi gives a Drishti to the other three Common Rāśis. The Grah in a Rāśi gives the same Drishti, as the Rāśi (in which the Grah is) does.
english translation
dvisvabhAvo vinA'tmAnAM dvisvabhAvAn prapazyati। samIpasthaM parityajya kheTAstatra gatAstathA॥ 3॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचरेषु संस्थिताः खेटाः पश्यन्ति स्थिरसङ्गतान्। स्थिरेषु संस्थिता एवं पश्यन्ति चरसंस्थितान्॥ ४॥
Dristhis of the Grahas. A Grah in a Movable Rāśi gives a Drishti to the other 3 Fixed Rāśis, leaving the Fixed Rāśi next to it. A Grah in a Fixed Rāśi does not give a Drishti to the next Movable Rāśi, but the remaining 3 Movable Rāśis

careSu saMsthitAH kheTAH pazyanti sthirasaGgatAn। sthireSu saMsthitA evaM pazyanti carasaMsthitAn॥ 4॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउभयस्थास्तु सूर्याद्या पश्यन्युभयसंस्थितान्। निकटस्थं विना खेटाः पश्यन्तीत्ययमागमः॥ ५॥
The one in a Common Rāśi gives a Drishti to the remaining 3 Common Rāśis. Simultaneously a Grah in the Rāśi, that receives a Drishti, is also subjected to the Drishti concerned.

ubhayasthAstu sUryAdyA pazyanyubhayasaMsthitAn। nikaTasthaM vinA kheTAH pazyantItyayamAgamaH॥ 5॥
