अक्षवेदांशके चैव षष्ट्यंशेऽखिलमीक्षयेत्। यत्र कुत्रापि सम्प्राप्तः क्रूरषष्ट्यंशकाधिपः॥ ६॥

akSavedAMzake caiva SaSTyaMze'khilamIkSayet। yatra kutrApi samprAptaH krUraSaSTyaMzakAdhipaH॥ 6॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र नाशो न सन्दे हो गर्गादीनां वचो यथा। यत्र कुत्रापि सम्प्राप्तः कलांशाधिपतिः शुभः॥ ७॥
The Bhava, whose Lord is in a malefic Shashtiāńś, will diminish; so say Garga and others.
english translation
tatra nAzo na sande ho gargAdInAM vaco yathA। yatra kutrApi samprAptaH kalAMzAdhipatiH zubhaH॥ 7॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र वृद्धिश्च पुष्टिश्च गर्गादिनां वचो यथा। इति षोडशवर्गाणां भेदास्ते प्रतिपादिताः॥ ८॥
The Bhava, whose Lord is in a benefic Shodashāńś, flourish. This is how the 16 Vargas are to be evaluated.

tatra vRddhizca puSTizca gargAdinAM vaco yathA। iti SoDazavargANAM bhedAste pratipAditAH॥ 8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउदयादिषु भावेषु खेटस्य भवनेषु वा। वर्गविंशोपकं वीक्ष्य ज्ञेयं तेषां शुभाऽशुभम्॥ ९॥
After assessing the 20 point strength of the ascending degree, of other Bhavas and of the Grahas, the good and bad effects be declared.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथातः सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि वर्गविंशोपकं बलम्। यस्य विज्ञानमार्तेण विपाकं दृष्टिगोचरम्॥ १०॥
