ओजलग्नप्रसूतानां मेषादेर्गणयेत् क्रमात्। समलग्नप्रसूतानाम् मीनादेरपसव्यतः॥ ११॥
If the natal Lagn is an even Rāśi, count from Meen to the natal Lagn in the reverse order. Similarly, if the Hora Lagn is an odd one, count from Mesh to Hora Lagn in direct order. If the Hora Lagn is an even one, count from Meen to Hora Lagn in the reverse order.

ojalagnaprasUtAnAM meSAdergaNayet kramAt। samalagnaprasUtAnAm mInAderapasavyataH॥ 11॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमेषमीनादितो जन्मलग्नान्तं गणयेत् सुधीः। तथैव होरालग्नान्तं गणयित्वा ततः परम्॥ १२॥
If both the products are odd Rāśis, or even Rāśis, then add both the figures. If one is odd and the other is even, then know the difference between the two products.

meSamInAdito janmalagnAntaM gaNayet sudhIH। tathaiva horAlagnAntaM gaNayitvA tataH param॥ 12॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptओजत्वेन समत्वेन सयातीये उभे यदि। तर्हि संख्ये योजयीत वैजात्ये तु वियोजयेत्॥ १३॥
If the latest product in this process is an odd one, count so many Rāśis from Mesh in a direct manner; if an even one, count so many Rāśis from Meen in reverse order. The Rāśi so known will be the Varnad for Lagn.

ojatvena samatvena sayAtIye ubhe yadi। tarhi saMkhye yojayIta vaijAtye tu viyojayet॥ 13॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमेषमीनादितः पश्चाद्यो राशिः स तु वर्णदः। एतत्प्रयोजनं वक्ष्ये सृणु त्वं द्विजपुंगवः। होरालग्नभयोर्नेया सबलाद्वर्णदा दशा॥ १४॥
Effects of Varnad. Now listen to the use of the above. Out of the two, viz. natal Lagn and Hora Lagn, whichever is stronger, from there Varnad starts.

meSamInAditaH pazcAdyo rAziH sa tu varNadaH। etatprayojanaM vakSye sRNu tvaM dvijapuMgavaH। horAlagnabhayorneyA sabalAdvarNadA dazA॥ 14॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्संख्ये वर्णदो लग्नात् तत्तत्संख्याक्रमेण तु। क्रमयुत्क्रमभेदेन दशा स्यादोजयुग्मयो॥ १५॥
If the natal Lagn is an odd Rāśi, the counting of Dashas is clockwise, otherwise anticlockwise. Lagn Dasha years will equal the number of Rāśis, intervening between the natal Lagn and Varnad. Similarly for other Bhavas.
