भगवान् याऽर्गला प्रोक्ता शुभदा भवताऽधुना । तामहं स्रोतुमिच्छामि सलक्षणफलं मुने ॥ १॥
O Maharishi Parashar, you have told of auspicious effects, related to Argala. Kindly narrate its conditions and effects.
english translation
bhagavAn yA'rgalA proktA zubhadA bhavatA'dhunA । tAmahaM srotumicchAmi salakSaNaphalaM mune ॥ 1॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमैत्रेय सार्गला नाम यया भावफलं दृढम् । स्थिरं खेटफलं च स्यात् साऽधुना कथ्यते मया ॥ २॥
Formation of Argala. Maitreya, I explain below Argala to know the definite effects of Bhavas and Grahas.
english translation
maitreya sArgalA nAma yayA bhAvaphalaM dRDham । sthiraM kheTaphalaM ca syAt sA'dhunA kathyate mayA ॥ 2॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचतुर्थे च धने लाभे ग्रहे ज्ञेया तदर्गला । तद्बाधकाः क्रमात् खेटा व्योमरिष्फतृतीयगाः ॥ ३॥
Grahas in the 4th, 2nd and the 11th cause Argalas, while obstructors of the Argala will be those in the 10th, 12th and 3rd from a Bhava, or a Grah.
english translation
caturthe ca dhane lAbhe grahe jJeyA tadargalA । tadbAdhakAH kramAt kheTA vyomariSphatRtIyagAH ॥ 3॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिर्बला न्यूनसंख्या वा बाधका नैव सम्मताः । तृतीये व्याधिकाः पापा यत्र मैत्रेय बाधकाः ॥ ४॥
If the Argala causing Grah is stronger than the obstructing one, the former will prevail. Or, if the number of Argalas are more than the obstructing Grahas, then also the Argala will prevail.
english translation
nirbalA nyUnasaMkhyA vA bAdhakA naiva sammatAH । tRtIye vyAdhikAH pApA yatra maitreya bAdhakAH ॥ 4॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्रापि चार्गला ज्ञेया विपरीता द्विजोत्तम । तथापि खेटभावानां फलमर्गलितं विदुः ॥ ५॥
If there are 3, or more malefics in the 3rd they will cause Vipreet Argala (more effective intervention), which will also be harmless and be very favourable.
english translation
tatrApi cArgalA jJeyA viparItA dvijottama । tathApi kheTabhAvAnAM phalamargalitaM viduH ॥ 5॥
