छायां महाभूतकृतां च सर्वेऽभिव्यञ्जयन्ति स्वदशामवाप्य ॥ क्वम्बवग्निवाय्वम्बरजान्गुणांश्च नासास्वदृक्त्वक्छ्रवणानुमेयान् ॥ ८-२१ ॥
Having obtained one’s dasha consisting of the gunas and earth, water, fire, air, and ether; all those cause manifestation in their likeness accomplished by the five gross elements from what is to be inferred from the nose, mouth, eyes, skin, and ears.

chAyAM mahAbhUtakRtAM ca sarve'bhivyaJjayanti svadazAmavApya ॥ kvambavagnivAyvambarajAnguNAMzca nAsAsvadRktvakchravaNAnumeyAn ॥ 8-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशुभफलददशायां तादृगेवान्तरात्मा बहु जनयति पुंसा सौख्यमर्थागमं च ॥ कथितफलविपाकैस्तर्कयेद्वर्त्तमानां परिणमति फलोक्ति: स्वप्नचिन्तास्ववीर्यै: ॥ ८-२२ ॥
Indeed, in such a manner in the dasha bearing auspicious results, the inner self of human beings produces much happiness and acquisition of wealth. With the maturity of the results described, one should infer the present. When those thoughts are of dreamt, the acquisition of results develop by the powers of the self.

zubhaphaladadazAyAM tAdRgevAntarAtmA bahu janayati puMsA saukhyamarthAgamaM ca ॥ kathitaphalavipAkaistarkayedvarttamAnAM pariNamati phalokti: svapnacintAsvavIryai: ॥ 8-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएकग्रहस्य सदृशे फलयोर्विरोधे नाशं वदेद्यधिकं परिपच्यते तत् ॥ नान्यो ग्रह: सदृशमन्यफलं हिनस्ति स्वां स्वां दशामुपगता: स्वफलप्रदा: स्यु: ॥ ८-२३ ॥
When two results are equal in opposition of the same planet, one should infer the elimination (of both results). That which is superior, that is brought to maturity. Another similar planet does not destroy the result of the other. Those (results) are experienced in each own’s dasha.
english translation
ekagrahasya sadRze phalayorvirodhe nAzaM vadedyadhikaM paripacyate tat ॥ nAnyo graha: sadRzamanyaphalaM hinasti svAM svAM dazAmupagatA: svaphalapradA: syu: ॥ 8-23 ॥
