दहनजलविमिश्रैर्भस्मसंक्लेदशोषै: निधनभवनसंस्थैर्व्यालवगैविडम्ब: ॥ इति शवपरिणामश्चिन्तनीयो यथोक्त: पृथुविरचितशास्त्राद्गत्यनूकाकदिचिन्त्यम् ॥ २५-१३ ॥
The disposal of the corpse is to be considered to be reduced ashes (cremated), drenched (throw in a river or body of water), and dried up (buried) with the fiery, watery, and mixed (drekkanas) situated in the 8th house (22nd drekkana). With Serpent drekkanas (1st and 2nd drekkana of Cancer and Scorpio, and the 3rd drekkana of Pisces situated in the 8th house (22nd drekkana), the corpse is fragmented. The course of events beginning with the previous birth is to be considered from a text written by Prithu, the son of Varahamihira.
