द्वाविंश: कथितस्तु कारणं द्रेष्काणो निधनस्य सूरिभि: ॥ तस्याधिपतिर्भवोऽपि वा निर्याणं स्वगुणै: प्रयच्छति ॥ २५-११ ॥

dvAviMza: kathitastu kAraNaM dreSkANo nidhanasya sUribhi: ॥ tasyAdhipatirbhavo'pi vA niryANaM svaguNai: prayacchati ॥ 25-11 ॥

The course of events beginning with the previous birth is to be considered from a text written by Prithu, the son of Varahamihira.

From lord of the drekkana presiding over of the stronger of the Sun or Moon; Jupiter, the being should be created from the divine; the Moon and Venus, the being should be created from the ancestors; the Sun and Mars, the being should be created from the animal; and Saturn and Mercury, the being should be created from the hells. From lord of the drekkana presiding over of the stronger of the Sun or Moon; from the decline of exaltation the life of being was best, middling, and worst in the previous birth.
