लग्नात्पुत्रकलत्रमे शुभपतिप्राप्तेऽथबालोकिते चन्द्राद्वा यदि सम्पदस्ति हि तयोर्ज्ञेयोऽन्यथासम्भव: ॥ पार्थोनोदयगे रवौ रविसुतो मीनस्थितो दारहा पुत्रस्थानगतश्च पुत्रमरणं पुत्रोऽवनेर्यच्छति ॥ २३-१ ॥
If from the lagna or the Moon when the 5th or 7th houses are occupied or aspected by an auspicious lord, indeed is wealth from them two (offspring or wife) to be known. Otherwise, it is unlikely. When the Sun is situated in the lagna of Virgo and Saturn is situated in Pisces (the 7th house in this context), there is desertion (death) of the wife and Mars is situated in the place of the offspring (5th house), it gives death of the offspring.

With those cruel planets situated in the 4th and 8th house from Venus, there is the death of the wife born of burning. When Venus situated in the middle of two malefics, there is the death of the wife born of falling. When Venus is not accompanied nor aspected by benefic planets, there is the death of the wife born of a noose.

When the Sun and Moon are situated in the 12th or 6th house from the lagna, they say one is born of one eye together with his wife. Or when Venus and the Sun are situated in the 7th, 9th, or 5th house, they declare one is born with a wife with an impairment.

When the rising (lagna) is with Saturn and Venus is in the 7th house and circle samdhi (last navamsha of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) and if the 5th house is not joined with a benefic, one is the husband of a barren wife. With the malefics situated in the zodiac sign of the 12th house, 7th house, and the lagna when the waning Moon is in the 5th house, one is born without offspring and a wife.

When Venus is situated in the 7th house in the varga of Saturn or Mars and aspected by Saturn or Mars, one having sexual intercourse with a young woman of another. If the two (Saturn or Mars) are with the Moon (with the same indications just mentioned), one is a fornicator together with the wife. When Venus and the Moon ॥ are in a zodiac sign and Saturn and Mars॥ are in the 7th house ॥ from Venus and the Moon॥, a man is without wife or also without offspring.
