कुलसमकुलमुख्यबन्धुपूज्या धनिसुखिभोगिनृपा: स्वभैकवृद्ध्या ॥ परविभवसुहृत्स्वबन्धुपोप्या गणपबलेशनृपाश्च भित्रभेषु ॥ २१-१ ॥
One will honored like a family, a family, a chief kinsmen, possessed of wealth, possessed of happiness, possessed of enjoyment, and a king with one and increasing in one’s own zodiac sign. With the planets are in one’s own zodiac sign from one to seven zodiac signs being filled by the planets, respectively.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptजनयति नृपमेकोऽप्युच्चगो मित्रदृष्ट: प्रचुरधनसमेतं मित्रयोगाच्च सिद्धम् विघनविसुखमूढव्याधितो बन्धतप्तो वधदुरितसमेत: शत्रुनीचर्क्षगेषु ॥ २१-२ ॥
Even one (planet) situated in exaltation, produces a lord of people; and also aspected by a friendly (planet), one is endowed with wealth; and also one is accomplished from a yoga with a friend. One (planet) situated in the zodiac sign of an enemy or debilitation, produces lack of wealth; two planets, lack of happiness; three planets, stupidity; four planets, disease; five planets, distress by confinement; and six planets, arrived at harm by a deadly weapon.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptन कुम्भ लग्नं शुभम् आह सत्यो न भाग भेदाद् यवना वदन्ति । कस्यांश भेदो न तथास्ति राशेरतिप्रसङ्गस्त्विति विष्णुगुप्तः ॥ २१-३॥
Satya says, the lagna of Aquarius is not auspicious. The Yavanas say, Aquarius is not auspicious from the division of the portion (Dvadashamsha). But Vishnugupta says, Of which division of the portions is not auspicious from the zodiac sign? Thus, it is an unwarranted stretch of the rule.

na kumbha lagnaM zubham Aha satyo na bhAga bhedAd yavanA vadanti । kasyAMza bhedo na tathAsti rAzeratiprasaGgastviti viSNuguptaH ॥ 21-3॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयातेष्वसत्स्वसममेषु दिनेशहोरां ख्यातो महोद्यमबलाथयुतोऽतितेजा: ॥ चान्द्रीं शुभेषु युजि मार्दवकान्तिसौख्यसौभाग्यधीमधुरवाक्ययुत: प्रजात: ॥ २१-४ ॥
When malefics are situated in the odd zodiac signs in the hora of the Sun; the one born is well-known, joined with abundant diligence, strength, and means, and very brilliant. When benefics are situated in the even zodiac signs in the hora of the Moon; the one born is joined to gentleness, beauty, comfort, good fortune, intelligence, and sweet words.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptतास्वेव होरास्वपरर्क्षगेषु ज्ञेया नरा: पूर्वगुणेषु मध्या: ॥ व्यत्यरतहोराभवनस्थितेषु मर्त्या भवन्त्युक्तगुणैर्विहीना: ॥ २१-५ ॥
Indeed, among those horas when those (planets) are situated in other zodiac signs, the people to be known among the previous categories are mediocre. When those are situated in the contrary horas and zodiac signs, those mortals with those qualities addressed are destitute of those.
