शूर: स्तब्धो विकलनयनो निर्घृणोऽर्के तनुसथे मेषे सस्वस्तिमिरनयन: सिंहसस्थे निशान्ध: ॥ नीचेऽन्धोऽस्व: शशिगृहगते बुद्बुदाक्ष: पतंगे भूरिद्रव्यो नृपहृतधनो वक्त्ररोगी द्वितीये ॥ २०-१ ॥
When the Sun is situated in the 1st house, one will be a hero, stubborn, have defective vision, and cruel, ॥ except for Aries, Leo, Libra, and Cancer॥. When the Sun is in the 1st house in Aries, one is with wealth and has clouded vision. When the Sun is in the 1st house of Leo, one is blind at night. When the Sun is in the 1st house of debilitation (Libra), one is blind and poor. When the Sun is in the 1st house of Cancer, one has floaters in the vision.

When the Sun is situated in the 3rd house, one possesses intellect and heroic valor. When the Sun is in the 4th house, one is joyless and has torment produced from the mind. When the Sun is in the 5th house, one is without offspring and deprived of wealth. When the Sun has entered into the 6th house, one is possessed of power but defeated by an enemy.

When the Sun is in the 7th house, there is humilation related with women. When the Sun is in the 8th house, one has very few offspring and defective vision. When the Sun is in the 9th house, one is possessing offspring, means, and comfort. When the Sun is in the 10th house, one is possessing comfort and heroism. When the Sun is in the 11th house, possessed of abundant wealth. But when the Sun is in the 12th house, one is ruined.

When the Moon is in the 1st house ॥ except in Cancer, Aries, and Taurus॥; one is speechless, frantic, frigid, blind, mean, deaf, and a servant. When the Moon is situated in Cancer, one is possessed of wealth. When the Moon is situated in Aries, one has many sons.

When the Moon is in the 7th house, one is jealous and severely intoxicated. When the Moon is in the 8th house, one has many thoughts and tormented with disease. When the Moon is in the 9th house; possessed good fortune, offspring, friends, kinsman, and wealth. When the Moon is in the 10th house; one obtains accomplishment and one is joined with dharma, wealth, intellect, and heroism. When the Moon is situated in the 11th house, one is well-known and possessed of good qualities of living. When the Moon is in the 12th house, one is vile and has defective limbs.
