लग्ने कुजे क्षततनुर्धनगे कदन्नो धर्मेऽघवान् दिनकरप्रतिमोऽन्यसंस्थ: ॥ विद्वान् धनी प्रबलपण्डितमन्त्र्यशत्रुधर्मज्ञविश्रुतगुण: परतोऽर्क वज्झे ॥ २०-६ ॥
When Mars is in the 1st house, one has a wounded body. When Mars is situated in the 2nd house, one has bad food. When Mars is in the 9th house, one is possessed of evil. When Mars is situated in the others (houses), the results are like the Sun in those houses.

One is possessed of knowledge, well spoken, poor, possessed of happiness, possessed of intelligence, without an enemy, greater than the father, vile, an ascetic, with wealth, with acquisition, and mischievous in due order from the lagna when Jupiter ॥ occupies those॥.

When Venus is in the 1st house, one is skilled in love and happy. When Venus is in the 7th house, one will have agreeable quarrel and desirous of amorous intercourse.
