न्यग्रोधोदुम्बराश्वत्थशुङ्गानापोथ्य वासयेत् । अहोरात्रं जले तप्ते घृतं तेनाम्भसा पचेत् ॥१०१॥

The tender sprouts (śuṅga) of nyagrodha – Ficus benghalensis, udumbara – Ficus racemosa, and aśvattha – Ficus religiosa are gently crushed and soaked in hot water for a full day and night (ahorātra). Ghee should then be systematically cooked and processed with this infused water.

तदर्धशर्करायुक्तं लेहयेत्क्षौद्रपादिकम् । अधो वा यदि वाऽप्यूर्ध्वं यस्य रक्तं प्रवर्तते ॥१०२॥

This medicated ghee should be mixed with half its quantity of sugar and one-fourth part of honey to form a linctus/confection (leha). It should be licked by a patient who experiences bleeding from either the downward direction (rectum/urinary tract) or upward direction (mouth/nose – raktapitta).

श्लेष्मातीसारे वातोक्तं विशेषादामपाचनम् । कर्तव्यमनुबन्धेऽस्य पिबेत्पक्त्वाऽग्निदीपनम् ॥ १०३ ॥

In diarrhea of kapha origin (śleṣmātisāra), the therapeutic measures prescribed for vātātisāra should be adopted, with a specific focus on therapies that digest ama (āma-pācana). If the diarrhea still persists, the patient should drink decoctions that stimulate the digestive fire (agni-dīpana) after proper cooking.

He should drink the decoction prepared from bilva – Aegle marmelos, karkāṭikā (bījapūraka/orange-apple variety or dried tender bael fruit pieces), musta – Cyperus rotundus, prāṇadā – Terminalia chebula, and viśvabheṣaja – Zingiber officinale; or a decoction made of vacā – Acorus calamus, viḍaṅga – Embelia ribes, bhūtīka – Cymbopogon citratus, dhānaka – Coriandrum sativum, and amaradāru – Cedrus deodara.

Alternatively, a decoction prepared from pippalīmūla – root of Piper longum, the two types of pippalī (pippalī – Piper longum and gaja-pippalī – Scindapsus officinalis), and citraka – Plumbago zeylanica may be administered. A formulation containing pāṭhā – Cissampelos pareira, agni – Plumbago zeylanica, vatsaka – Holarrhena antidysenterica, granthi – root of Piper longum (pippalīmūla), tiktā – Swertia chirata, śuṇṭhī – Zingiber officinale, vacā – Acorus calamus, and abhayā – Terminalia chebula;
