प्रस्थार्धं च हिमे क्षौद्रात्तन्निहन्त्युपयोजितम्। प्रवृद्धशोफज्वरमेहगुल्म- कार्श्यामवाताम्लकरक्तपित्तम्। वैवर्ण्यमूत्रानिलशुक्रदोष- श्वासारुचिप्लीहगरोदरं च॥१६॥
After the confection cools down completely, half a prastha (384 grams) of honey is blended into it. This recipe, when regularly consumed, completely cures: advanced or chronic oedema (swelling), fever, diabetes, abdominal tumors, severe emaciation, rheumatism (āmavāta), gastric acidity, and bleeding disorders (raktapitta); as well as abnormal discoloration of the body, disorders of urine, flatus (vitiated vāyu), and semen, dyspnoea, loss of appetite, diseases of the spleen, chronic/homicidal poisoning, and enlargement of the abdomen.

It should be eaten either with the soup of mudga (Vigna radiata) or kulattha (Dolichos biflorus) seasoned with yavakṣāra, vyoṣa (Piper nigrum, Piper longum, and Zingiber officinale), and kaṇā (Piper longum);

or with the meat soup of animals from desert-like lands (jāṅgala), tortoise, iguana lizard, or porcupine. Well-churned buttermilk that is not sour, or medicated wines infused with appropriate herbs, are highly recommended for drinking.

A thin gruel (peyā) is formulated with ajājī (Cuminum cyminum), śaṭhī (Hedychium spicatum), jīvantī (Leptadenia reticulata), kāravī (Nigella sativa), pauṣkara (Inula racemosa), agnika (Plumbago zeylanica), the inner pulp/marrow of bilva (Aegle marmelos), yavakṣāra (alkali prepared from barley), and vṛkṣāmla (Garcinia indica), each taken in a quantity equal to a badara (jujube fruit).
