आत्म रक्षा हि सततं पूर्वं कार्या विजानता । अग्नाव् इव हि संप्रोक्ता वृत्ती राजा उपजीविनाम् ॥
english translation
Atma rakSA hi satataM pUrvaM kAryA vijAnatA । agnAv iva hi saMproktA vRttI rAjA upajIvinAm ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएक देशं दहेद् अग्निः शरीरं वा परं गतः । स पुत्र दारं राजा तु घातयेद् अर्धयेत वा ॥
whereas fire burns a part or the whole of the body, if at all, the king has the power either to destroy or to advance the whole family, consisting of sons and wives, of his servants.
english translation
eka dezaM dahed agniH zarIraM vA paraM gataH । sa putra dAraM rAjA tu ghAtayed ardhayeta vA ॥
