कारु शिल्पि कुशीलव चिकित्सक वाग् जीवन पाषण्डच् छद्मभिर् वा नष्ट रूपस् तद् व्यञ्जन सखश् छिद्रेषु प्रविश्य राज्ञः शस्त्र रसाभ्यां प्रहृत्य ब्रूयात् "अहम् असौ कुमारः, सह भोग्यम् इदं राज्यम्, एको न अर्हति भोक्तुम्, ये कामयन्ते मां भर्तुं तान् अहं द्विगुणेन भक्त वेतनेन उपस्थास्यामि" इति ॥ इत्य् अपरुद्ध वृत्तम् ।
Or having disguised himself as a painter, a carpenter, court-bard, a physician, a buffoon, or a heretic, and assisted by spies under similar disguise, he may, when opportunity affords itself, present himself armed with weapons and poison before the king, and address him :-- "I am the heir-apparent; it does not become thee to enjoy the state alone when it is enjoyable by both of us, or when others justly desire such enjoyment; I ought not to be kept away by awarding an allowance of double the subsistence and salary."
