अभिसृतं परिसृतम् अतिसृतम् अपसृतम् उन्मथ्य अवधानं वलयो गो मूत्रिका मण्डलं प्रकीर्णिका व्यावृत्त पृष्ठम् अनुवंशम् अग्रतः पार्श्वाभ्यां पृष्ठतो भग्न रक्षा भग्न अनुपात इत्य् अश्व युद्धानि ॥
Running against; running round; running beyond; running back; disturbing the enemy's halt; gathering the troops; curving, circling, miscellaneous operations; removal of the rear; pursuit of the line from the front, flanks and rear; protection of the broken army; and falling upon the broken army--these are the forms of waging war with horses.

abhisRtaM parisRtam atisRtam apasRtam unmathya avadhAnaM valayo go mUtrikA maNDalaM prakIrNikA vyAvRtta pRSTham anuvaMzam agrataH pArzvAbhyAM pRSThato bhagna rakSA bhagna anupAta ity azva yuddhAni ॥
