रथानां द्वौ त्रि भागाव् अङ्गेष्व् आवापयेत्, शेषम् उरस्यं स्थापयेत् ॥
Two-thirds of the chariots should be distributed to the flanks and wings, and the remainder stationed in the front.

rathAnAM dvau tri bhAgAv aGgeSv AvApayet, zeSam urasyaM sthApayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं त्रि भाग ऊनो रथानाम् आवापः कार्यः ॥
Thus, the added surplus of chariots should be one-third less ॥ than the number added to the flanks and the wings॥.

evaM tri bhAga Uno rathAnAm AvApaH kAryaH ॥

By this, the distribution of surplus elephants and horses has been explained.

As many horses, chariots, and elephants may be deployed as long as they do not create confusion in battle. So much distribution should be made.
