कलहे तीक्ष्णाः कर्म कुर्युः "हतो अयम् इत्थं कामुकः" इति ॥

in the ensuing affray, fiery spies may do their work and declare: "Thus has he been killed in consequence of his love."

विसंवादितं वा मर्षयमाणम् अभिसृत्य स्त्री ब्रूयात् "असौ मां मुख्यस् त्वयि जात कामां बाधते, तस्मिन् जीवति न इह स्थास्यामि" इति घातम् अस्य प्रयोजयेत् ॥

A woman who has disappointed her lover and has been forgiven, may approach a chief and say: "This chief is troubling me when my mind is set upon you; when he is alive, I cannot stay here," and thus induce the former to slay the latter.

english translation

visaMvAditaM vA marSayamANam abhisRtya strI brUyAt "asau mAM mukhyas tvayi jAta kAmAM bAdhate, tasmin jIvati na iha sthAsyAmi" iti ghAtam asya prayojayet ॥

प्रसह्य अपहृता वा वन अन्ते क्रिडा गृहे वा अपहर्तारं रात्रौ तीक्ष्णेन घातयेत्, स्वयं वा रसेन ॥

A woman who has been violently carried off at night may cause the death of her violator in the vicinity of a park or in a pleasure house, by means of fiery spies or with poison administered by herself.

prasahya apahRtA vA vana ante kriDA gRhe vA apahartAraM rAtrau tIkSNena ghAtayet, svayaM vA rasena ॥

ततः प्रकाशयेत् "अमुना मे प्रियो हतः" इति ॥

Then she may declare: "This beloved person of mine has been killed by such and such a person."

जात कामं वा सिद्ध व्यञ्जनः सांवदनिकीभिर् औषधीभिः संवास्य रसेन अतिसंधाय अपगच्छेत् ॥

A spy, under the garb of an ascetic, may apply to a lover such medical ointments as are declared to be capable of captivating the beloved woman and as are adulterated with poison; and then he may disappear.

jAta kAmaM vA siddha vyaJjanaH sAMvadanikIbhir auSadhIbhiH saMvAsya rasena atisaMdhAya apagacchet ॥
